Hi everybody
Haven't been on any board since 2006, it's kinda refreshing :^)

I'm a 33yo self-taught (like everybody else here hehe) Access dev
I discovered Access in 2008 when my father was starting his company, thanks to him I know almost all the bad practices ;^)
After that, I forgot about Access for many years
And 6 years ago I started to make my own ERP for the company out of frustration, and it has grown into a 36'000 thousand lines VBA code base that I still try my best to improve
It works with Azure SQL server
I have a bit of Python background, I work with PowerApps as well even if our relationship is a bit complicated

In my free time, I play Trackmania, and I have two lovely/angry parrots at home
I am already looking forward to being here
Cheers
Jeremy D.

Hello, Jeremy, and welcome to the forum.

I know almost all the bad practices

Ah, but are you experienced? (Trick question.) "Experience" is that which enables you to recognize your mistakes when you make them again.

I think experience can be sometimes a double-edged sword
On one side, it helps you with pattern recognition, so you don't spend the same amount of time you needed the first try
But also it can clog your vision on things that "you think already know" and thus can sometimes force you into bad habits

And that's why I'm here, to seek experiences from others :^)

EDIT: and to be honest, I still have lots of bad practices with my workflow too 👾
