Append Query to update existing Data

Hello Friends,

I was having some weird issue of importing data (1591 Rows X 16 Columns) in existing table in MS Access from MS Excel. I made sure my Column headers as well as data types matched from excel to access but some how it did not work. Somewhere in this forum I read where it was suggested to import those data in a new table in access and after that write an append query to automatically populate data in existing table in access. I have never written an append query so would you please help me here? I appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.

Don't know which version you are on, but here's some good info about queries (the Append is about 2/3 down the page) for 2007 (the 2003 version seems to be missing):
