Hello,
A company hired me to create a database for them using access. Most employees at this company have not worked with access before and therefore i want to create my own pop-up message telling them what to do.

Now when i open access i have to locate the folder where i have stored the database in order for it to be opened. Is there anyway in which i can create a popup message? Or automatically load the database when access is opened?

Also, i want to create my own warning message when wrong information is typed into a field (eg: numbers instead of text). How can i do this, if it is possible?

Thanx in advance

ps

I have already created a switchboard and it does start up automatically when i open access. But that is only after i have clicked on the folder where the database is stored.

Have you not thought about creating a shortcut from the users desktop to point to the mdb:confused::confused::confused:

A shortcut, as DCrake suggested, is certainly the easiest thing to do! From Windows Explorer, Right click on the database file, select Send To Desktop (create shortcut). Now they just click on the icon on the desktop and Bob's your uncle!
