AWF Meeting (1 Viewer)

Hi Paul,

Thought I had said I'm in:p, What about Uncle G?

Yes, I'm going... Wild OP's wouldn't keep me away...

My only concern is how to guarantee others whom say they are going actually do.

I know Paul and Chris will turn up if they say they will, but others have let us down, with no explanation or apparent remorse.

Any ideas?

Tony, why have you not replied to my email then :p? Lol.
OOPS ! My bad. I had sent it to the wrong Tony. Lol. I have sent you an email. Sorry about that. Now I understand why you would not have replied. ;)

We discussed this the last time we met. Not sure if we came to a conclusion though.

No i don't think it was resolved. The main issue for the 3 of us as we are all from the southwest, is there is no point in going into London for the convenience of people that don't turn up.

Well this time we are having Bob from London, who has promised to attend. I have no issues going up to London, if many are joining. Although it would be a shame to travel to London and again have a no show. That is my reason to keep bumping this thread. :p

It wasn't a formal occasion so no real notes were taken. As I recall we decided our get togethers were a 'no pressure event social' so not much we can do.

We wondered about adding something into the event which costs money (such as booking a trip on the Thames or organising a workshop of some sort that people could put against their training budget) and ask for non refundable deposits but it was felt that we needed to keep to the 'budget end' of the spectrum and didn't really want to add to the organising burden at this time.

I think we just have to consider that those who say they are coming and then don't and don't even have to the courtesy to say so should not be invited again - or perhaps we give them one chance to redeem themselves

I don't remember as much as you Chris, but I put that down to the beer the beer was lovely!

Of course I do Bob, I am counting on you this time.. Just to keep in track, could you also reply to the email I sent you? So I will know people are checking their inbox and I can get in touch with them through that. :D

Hi Paul,
I don't have an email from you.
I will PM you in case you have the wrong address.

I used the email provided in the survey Bob. I will double check.

I am hoping to attend this one. I am on holiday from 1st September so the only issue is over my physical state by the Sunday.

You can do it ! ;)

Please make sure you have filled in the survey !

Suggest a group photo, low resolution of course.
The rest of us who can't fly across the big drink would appreciate it.

I still have not uploaded the picture of us three on our very first meet. Will do this one for sure, Rx. As we are about 5 of us now :D

Excellent! I will try to reccomend that for our Mile-High Access Users Group meeting as well. I promote this site because I feel it is the best of the best.
If the time change wasn't so bad, I would recommend a Go-To-Meeting of our meeting. We meet at Microsoft and they have enabled us for guest speakers on the East Coast (2 time zones away). We are Mountain Time Zone.
That is 7 hours normal and 6 hours of Daylight Time from GMT - meeting at 6PM.
We still have an opening for a November opening.
We might be able to put someone as a speaker on the dual big projectors talking about some subject. Wouldn't that be a hoot?

Time zone: 7 hours GMT plus .002 u seconds for the Einstein gravitational shift being a mile high. ;)

Emails, have been sent to all the people who responded to my initial email, also to two others who were interested but still have not responded to my initial email. If you have received an email confirming the venue. Please could you take a minute to reply back to me? As far I can see, only Uncle Gizmo has replied. Others?????

Looks like it's just going to be me and you Paul....
