backing up database

This is probably a most basic of basic question for a lot of you, but how do you back-up your database?

I generally just make a copy of it. You can write code to do this if you want to make it a little more dynamic.

i just use win zip and make a copy too...
just open my computer go to your file name add it to zip by right clicking and drag the zip copy to a floppy! voila a backup

this takes it that you have winzip.
