The headline below is a fun read, not real news.
According to anonymous sources, several Pentagon officials asked how soon they would be able to knock the balloon out of the sky, insisting it was a matter of national security.

"Come on, man! I'll let you shoot it down. Just let me check to make sure the Chinese have what they need and that the million-dollar check for Hunter's painting came through from my buddy Xi. Then, have at it, boys!"

Believe it or not, our allies - France is the biggest "culprit", spy on the US as much as our enemies. The US is just as guilty - the games our Governments play...

They used a Sidewinder missile on the bag. They said that bullets would have worked but had too short a range and thus would require the pilot to be too close to the balloon for safety. Long-range video showed that the payload dropped intact initially but broke apart due to stresses of a non-aerodynamic object falling through air.

When all you use are hammers everything begins to look like nails.

Maybe a low-tech problem requires a low-tech solution. ;)

Also, get on it before it enters our airspace, not after it's completed its mission.

The article below raises numerous questions concerning spin to deflect from the Biden administration and transfer the blame to the Trump administration. Apparently, this balloon incursion was only disclosed because a member of the public saw it, The obvious implication, the Biden administration was hiding this fact from the public. And Biden claims to have the most transparent administration.

Recall how 50+ intelligence officials claimed that the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian disinformation. They dishonored the intelligence profession to serve an overt political agenda. Now we have this general apparently walking down the same path to assert that these incursions (previously unknown were really known) previously occurred under the Trump administration as an attempt to deflect blame away from the Biden administration. It is extremely unpleasant that a military officer is a shill for the Biden administration. Considering the prior lies of the intelligence community to mislead the public to achieve certain political objectives, why should believe this general?
He indicated that the intelligence community tracked those previous balloons after the incursions through “additional means.”
An old unknown after-the-fact discovery (if true) should not detract today from the Biden administrations responsibility for accepting responsibility for its attempt to hide the balloon's incursion.

PS. Trump derangement syndrome (TDS) is real, so if balloons did intrude into US airspace while Trump was President, why were there no leaks? Seems that leaking anti-Trump news was a favorite pass-time while Trump was President. Since there were no such leaks, does that "prove" that the general's statement is a lie?
