Greetings Jon,

Continuing our PM discussion on this thread so I may attach a screen capture of the error I see trying to visit this post I bookmarked:

Example of using DAO.Parameters against Access tables

Visiting this URL results in, (which is one place your bare email address is listed, which also is no longer a valid email address to contact you at):

I just tried it in IE and I got the same message as you. In Firefox I saw the thread, so maybe I had it in the cache of my browser in Firefox. It doesn't show up in Chrome either.

All right, so can you look into this Forum trouble? I would think "works in some browsers / not others" is not a reliable state to have the forum behaving in.

Were you logged in with the same forum user ID in each browser you tested with?

While not logged in to Internet Explorer 8, I get the same error message.

Interesting. I'm finding that in IE, if I log in I can see the thread, but not if I can't.

Maybe it is because you have root admin permissions to the forum, and I do not have such permissions.

I'm finding logged in using any browser, I can see the thread. Logged out I can't. Have you tried viewing the thread when logged in?

I get the invalid thread message when logged in and trying to access the thread on my IPAD , ie using SAFARI, don't know if this info helps or not.

Is this something that has happened recently, or did you have this problem for a while? Does it apply only to this thread or others you have bookmarked too?

I am trying to access the thread from the link, that maybe my problem. I don't know where the thread is or it's title to attempt any other way, are you, Jon, accessing it from the link?

Brian

Click the link or copy and paste the link once in a browser. Either will do. Just need to establish if its a problem with just this thread, many threads, whether it happened due to the recent outage etc.

That is why I asked how you are accessing the thread, if you are able to access it via clicking the link in this thread then that link is ok, if not I suspect that the outage may be involved in the problem and that the link needs refreshing.

I am sure that I have had this problem in the past but cannot remember the details unfortunately, but it was resoled by a refresh of the link to an old thread which I was able to find.

I cannot add more to this.

I authored that post I saved the link to, and it worked when I saved it. I do not believe I have been back to the thread since then, as it involves technology that was more complicated than comparable ADO code.

Greetings Jon, I just happened across another thread doing the same thing. Using Google to research something, a link to this forum came up.

http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=86859

I can open that thread. What I can not open is the link in Post #2.
