Is it just me or has this function completely passed me by?

I have never seen or even heard of it's use until I saw this thread https://stackoverflow.com/questions/53015836/docmd-runsql-error-out-need-better-variables on stackoverflow whilst browsing for something else.

I'm not sure how much benefit it is to the more experienced user, but ?

I read about it in Andrew Couch’s Access 2010 VBA Inside and Out book. I have tried it a few times but just didn’t see any benefits to using it over other Filter/Recordset Methods thst most Devs use...
