Just logged in (newbie) and tried to post.

First I out emoticons in but error message came up and said no images or links for less than 10 posts poster.

So I removed the emoticons.

Still getting that message! Removed inverted commas, then square brackets - did not help. Also have hashes and exclamation marks, haven't removed those yet.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Thanks, just tried posting again in the Forms forum but I again get this error message:
To be able to post links or images your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 2 posts.

Please remove links from your message, then you will be able to submit your post.
I don't have any links or images (or attachments) in my post, so I don't know why this error is being thrown.

Also just tried posting in response to your post above including the text of my desired post here, but that threw the same error. Trouble is I don't know what it is about my post text that is causing the forum software to throw the error, so I don't know what to take out of the text to make it acceptable. At the moment I have brackets (square and rounded), hash symbols, question marks and exclamation marks. Otherwise it's just normal a-z.

Randomly enough,

you can post to say that you cannot post! why dont you try and put your issue within the post that tells us you cannot post.......

the message you are getting comes becasue you do nto have mor ethan 10 posts and you must be trying to a link or an image or something. ITs strange that when you are not trying to outline your problem, you can post

Nigel thanks but as I said above I tried posting within my reply to Gemma above and got the same error message.

I will now try to "reformat" my intended post and again try to post it.

Maybe with all these can't post posts I'll get to 10 anyway!

OK, solved it. I had abbreviated a comment about the World Wide Web to its initials dubya dubya dubya, which also happened to be at the end of a sentence (dubya dubya dubya dot). Not a complete link by any means but the dial is clearly turned up to exclude part links too.

Now posted in the Forms forum (can't give you a link!).
