Hi there

Has anyone ever converted an Access 2002 database to Access 2003? If so, any tips?

We use Access 2002 frontend with SQL Server 2000 backend.

Thanks

Don't have Access in front to me to be 100% sure, but I beiieve there's only 97 format, 2000 format and 2002-2003 format, but no 2002 format and 2003 format?

Thanks Banana. But when you go to Help and About, it says Microsfot Access 2002 (10.2627.2625) and it came with Microsoft Office XP Developer as supplied with one of our PCs.

The problem is that the development has been done on this version and we only have the one disk for it, so if everything goes pear shaped AND the disc (which is quite old) gets lost or broken, then we're up that creek without a paddle.

Well, if you're quite concerned about this, you could just create a blank database with your 2003 Access, import everything from that database and use it instead.

Thanks Banana. That's probably the best bet. It'll need to be phased because we send the end product out with runtime, currently the client is using runtime 2000 or 2002, so we'll need to take a look at that too.

Thanks again

In this case you can just import to 2000 format; 2003 defaults with 2000 file format unless you explicitly set the preference.

In general you can use any version of Access to open a DB provided the DB is n
the same or a prevous version of Access.

Excellent stuff. Thanks again guys. Sorry I can't add to your reputation, but once again, the same people come to the rescue. Very much appreciated. This is the good news I wanted to hear :D

How do I mark this post as complete now?
