counting in a report

I hace a report with students
I havegrouped them by age and now I want to count the number of males and the number of females and have it show on the report

Are you running your report from a query? If so, make any extra field(expression) in a query for count male or female.

Select a field in a query that has male or female records. In the criteria place this code Like [What Gender?]. When you run the query you should get a parameter pop up that will ask What Gender? Type in Male or Female.

Connect your query to a report. Place a blank text box in a report header for count gender total.

control source =Sum([fieldname])
