Create a format like .exe

Is it possible that i can create my program to an exe look like because i want to protect my program that sell to my customer. If can not how bout just disable the design view of the program.

If you make an mde from your mdb it will protect it from design changes.

Thanks Robert ... u just give me a good suggestion. billion! but it takes long to create my file, eventually, the program is hang why? i use p4 with latest windows XP service pack and Access 2003...any idea?

Hi

Did you try "compact and repair" and also compile it before making a mde? You have to keep you eye on two files now, the original mdb if design changes are needed later and the latest mde.

I will try to do it on the others computer, to confirm whether is problem of the host computer or not..... (hope is the problem of computer not the program)

Ah, tried re-booting? In addition if it hangs, have you let it hang to the point where it generates an error?

Are you able to compact and repair it? I would suggest a back up before proceeding with it. What version of Access are you working with? There are know problems upgrading from 97 to 2000, XP, 2003.

Yes i do, robert.. i had do the compact and repair repeat and repeat.. still the same, but don't worry i had backing up my database before that. I do try to maka a mde files on the others computer, bad news~ that is my program problem~~ i use access 2003 to do my program from the beginning so...
now only god can help me~~ ha ha..

So when you have the package open, what is at the top of your database window? What file format is it? See attached doc as it is Access 2002 - 2003 file format, is yours the same?

How big is the file, maybe the data needs to be split from the main package?

Yes my lord~~ There is the same file type as u attach to me the word file, and my program is around 4mb.. is it too large? how bout i send u the file u help me to diagnostic it ha ha, can i have ur email ?

Sorry, it is currently being sent back. In this case the database is required to be split, which I have done and make an mde on the front end.

God~~~ It was ok...NVM. That's mean i have to split my program right now... so do u have any idea how to do that? because i never do it before. And do u know why my program is like that? actually i didn't do it with a really complicated way right.. Anyway I need to thanks again because i learn so much from u, robert.

If you complie your project this may point out any issue, it missing control sources, fields delete form a table with a control on a form pointing to it. To complie your project you would go to

Tools>>Macros>>Visula Basic Editor.
Then Debug >> Complie <yourdatabase name>

This may help.
I have a routine that i go through, whenever I make a change to a database and I want to create another mde. I first complie it.., I then run a compact and repair. Then I convert the file to Access 2002-2003 format as my databases are in access 2000 format and you cannot create mde from access 2000. I then create the mde file from the converted database.

But try and complie the database and see if it shows you any errors.
