Hi,
I am wondering if and how others create their own help file ?
What are the possible methods?
I have a manual but now it's a separate document. I would like to stuff it 'inside' the mdb file so it's always available and easier to maintain.

It is quite easy to create an intergrated help file (using the F1 key) once you get your head around it.

I use HelpScribble, really user friendly and easy to intergrate.

Seems that the files need to be installed under C:\My Documents

The path can be chnged in the Db.

I will have a look, it's been a long time since I posted the thread.

Will get back to you.

Find attached an A2000 updated version.

If you open the form in design mode, in the form properties you will see the help file path is C:\My Documents\HelpDemo.hlp

If you put the help file in the same folder as your Db, then only the help file name is required, not the full path.

Hi Oldsoftboss,
Thanks for your efforts, but problem here also is that the actual help file is external from the db. Thus needs to distributed as well.
What I am looking for (and don't know if it's possible) to create a help function - file - or whatever that is in the db, like a form or something.
Know what I mean ?

To achieve what you are looking for I use a product called Deploy. (Made by the same company that makes HelpScribble). It is an installation manager that will combine all your files together - similar to InstallShield, but way cheaper. Just adds a professional touch to your product. It will install files, create desktop shortcuts with custom icons, add an uninstall option etc
