I am try to use a dropdown box with a data access page to help the user find a specific record. When I use a combo box with a form and I run the form it works fine. When the use types in the first letter of the last name he comes to the first instance of that last name and then when he types in the second letter he gets closer to the name he is looking for. With the dropdown list, however the entire box is highlighted. When he types in the first letter of the last name he gets the first instance of that name (for instance if you typed in smith you might get shannon and then when you type the second letter M instead of getting smith you get molloy). I don't understand the properties of this dropdown box. Can anyone help me? Thanks - bruce
