Hello! I did an example using DSum, but I can´t see decimal values, for example, the correct value is 77,8 in second register...How to see this value?
Thanks!

Open your query in design view, select the 'running sum' column, then go to View, Properties, then for Format select 'Fixed', and for Decimal Places select 1.

Hope that works for you.

Please, Paulo JR, can you modify my Attached improved.mdb ?

I inserted Fixed and 2 decimal places in 'running sum' column... But as you can see the RunningSum column is not correct: the correct value should be 42,8 , 77,8 .... and not 42,0 , 77,0

Thank you very much!!

Hi Brianwarnock!
I changed table Fixed, 2 decimal places...As you can see in my example...but nothing different...The result 42,80, in 'running sum' column appears 42,00

Please, someone can take my attached example, and give some information about it ?

Thanks!!

Sorry Fred I have no idea why it doesn't work for you, I attach my results from improvedfred.mbd and your query.

I cannot believe that my being on 2002 and using normal uk decimal points . as opposed to , should make any difference, I just have no idea.

Since it works for me also, I'm wondering if it isn't a problem with the regional settings which is causing it to display correctly if our separator is a period, but when the separator is a comma it fails to work correctly.

Fred - try going into your computer's Regional Settings and set them TEMPORARILY to English(United States) and then see if it displays correctly. Then change them back to your original settings.

What are your regional settings set to? We might have to investigate a possible bug here.

Hello boblarson!!

Perfect, I changed regional settings to English(United States), and I saw the correct result. Is a bug?
My default is: Português ( Brasil )
Thanks!!

I might not believe it but it is the case ! it must be a bug surely. I am surprised that it has not come up before.

Brian

Yes, I did report it, when I discovered that French Canada setting also produces that result.

No, never received a response. Since I seldom configure in French format, it wasn't a biggie, so dropped it. No longer have the email trail from 18 mo ago. I'm using v2003 so it must have been around a while as a problem. You'd think the French world would have invaded USA again.

FRED:

What Service Pack Level is your Access 2000 at? Do you have all service packs installed?

Hello.... See my image with Access information...Access 2003 will resolve it?
Thanks!

Looks like you have SP1 installed but don't have SP2 or SP3 for Office 2000. You might see if applying those will solve the issue. As for Access 2003, I am on 2003 SP1 and it still has the same problem if I set my Regional Settings to Português ( Brasil ).

I was mistaken, as I have 2002 with SP3. Several French countries where comma replaced period in punctuation numbers produce the same error.
