I can't get my reports' unbound field's to display the criteria parameter I enter when report is opened. I have done this before but not in Access 2010. Can someone please give me a hand.

In my parameter, I do have a long string inside the brackets (e.g. =[Enter START Date "1/1/14" or Leave Ranges Blank to show ALL]). I am wondering if this or the quotes inside the brackets are causing it not to work.

You've made sure the text is exactly the same?

Yes, exactly. Copied and Pasted. Several times.

I always preferred to use a form to run queries and reports and supply any parameters as that avoided the requirement to enter them twice once to run the query and once for the heading.
referencing them as Forms!formname!controlname was simple.
Long explanations could then be in the label or separate text box.

Thanks. I think that's where I'm headed. Still not sure why it isn't working. Thanks for your response.

I always use forms too, but I just tested with your text and it worked fine.

What version of Access are you using? I'm on 2010. This has worked for me in earlier versions but having trouble in 2010.

Tested in 2007 and 2010. Can you post the db it fails in here?

I'm trying to go another route with a form as a filter. Now I'm having trouble getting that code to read all records if field is null.
