I have completely forgotten how to create a form that will olny allow the user to add a new record into a table...and will not let them view or change any of the existing records.

Kind of like a sign up form. Where they enter their info, hit enter and it stores in an existing table as a new record.

I'm sure this is elementary, but I'm a dummy

Thanks for your help!!!

Set DataEntry to Yes on the data tab of the form's property sheet.

Rg...

There is no DataEntry selection on the Data tab?

BTW...I'm using Access 2000.

Is the form bound to a table (or query)? I've never tried this case, but Access would recognize an unbound form as such. It definitely will omit properties that don't apply to the thing you are designing at the "control" level so I wouldn't be surprised to see it omit something from the Form level.

I believe you were looking at the Property sheet for one of the controls on the form. You need to look at the Property sheet for the Form.

You Were right

I made it an unbound form assuming that I needed to make it that way do an append Qry (vs. just data entry to the table). I changed it back and the option appeared. But, I realized that as you are entering data it keeps adding pages to the form...so I created a button with a marco that will close and re-open the form upon submittal. Don't know if this is the most efficient way, but it seems to be working now. Thanks a lot guys!!!
