Hi ..I am facing a issue in accessing my db file in server. I just splitted my database into front end and back end , placed in a local folder which is shared in network . I opened the files in network from my colleague machine and everything was working fine yesterday .. but right now i am getting error like
"the network path is not found " 0X80070035 which tells that check whether the source machines is able to accept file sharing ..I googled and tried 2 solutions Like turning off windows firewall and enabling NetBIOS Over TCP/IP..

anyhelp is appreciated..

Are you saying everyone is sharing a Frontend located on the Server?

@Gina Whipp , yeah I can explain what I did so that you can understand better. I shared the front end file in the server , and then I used 2 of my colleague machine and opened the front end file , and gave file >save as to their c folder.. So that they can use the file in their c folder to access . And also I made few entries from their machine (accessing the front end file in their c folder) after that when i opened the front end file in server I saw the entries getting updated.

but after a day i am getting error while connecting from my colleague machine to the shared folder.

@GinaWhipp ..Hi..I solved the issue today , I did the following changes which made me to connect with other machines.
1. Disabled the windows firewall security
2. Enabling NetBIOS over TCP/IP for my wireless connection
3. unchecking Internet protocol version 6 TCP/IPV6 in wireless network connection properties.
4. Checking Network Adapters (Microsoft 6 to 4 adapter) in device manager

But still I dunno which of the above four rectified the problem . Thanks a lot for your response:)

You better describe what it is you are doing, i.e. which machines are involved, which has frontend , which has backend and how do they connect, because wireless is an Access killer.

@spikepl ..Hi ..Both the machines is using Windows 7 Pro ..I have the front end and back end in my machine ( Win 7 Pro) in my local folder c>Database ..and this folder is shared with Authenticated Users , Users, Administrators and System .My Project mates connect to network , where under my machine name the Database folder is shared . They access the front end file to make entries. First time they opened the front end file they saved as in their desktop (so that the file in server is not accessed by everyone just its instance). yesterday My colleague were not able to connect to my machine , while connecting it throws the 0x80070035 error. Today I made the above changes in my machine and they are able to connect to it..

I wonder how come it didnt connect yesterday and connects today???

You have not answered how they connect - wireless or not, and I'm the sort of bitch that simply cannot be bothered to ask the same question twice.

Further, sharing a front end is not recommended practice. Each should use own - either on server, or preferably on own machine as a server-based front end places extras strain on the network.

@spikepl.. sorry for missing that info..they are connected wireless.

Hmm, not sure which did either but glad it's solved. However, again I recommend each get there own Frontend located on their locals.

@GinaWhipp ..Yeah I did that and I make sure nobody is working on file in server.
