Escel Query Refresh

Hi guys!

I’ve got a bit tricky question. I have a report where I use Excel query. Every time I need to refresh data I have to open the report in Design view and refresh Excel query manually, which is awkward. Is there any way I could do it by using of VBA or anything else?

I had a similar instance where I needed to refresh my data from a text file. What I did was to create a link table to the data source (the excel file in your case). Build your query to work from the link table, and any changes made to the excel file will be there every time you open the database. Hence, whenever your report is opened, the query it is based on will always have the most current data.

I got your idea, but unfortunately if I do it your way I loose all cell formats I made in Excel. The whole idea is to make the Report look nice. As an example take a look at attachment.

The only data changes there are Book Names and all Prices.

… any other thoughts will be greatly appreciated
