I've exported data from Access 2003 to an Excel 2003 spreadsheet in preparation for a data transfer from the old to the new. I've rearranged my field names to match exact table field names in Access 2010. I've elimated my primary key data from the old (Excel column) and created a PK in the new (Access 2010) in hopes when the data is imported it will then assign a new ID number to each imported record. First of all, is this okay? In importing the data from Excel 2003 into Access 2010 I get an "error" message. Please see attachment. Thank you.

Why don't you just import the tables into the 2010 db from the 2003 db?

Thanks for your reply Bob! In my "infinite" Access wisdom, I've changed the new database in that I've tried making it a more "normalized" database. The Access 2003 database has one large table (90+ fields) using one form to input. In the new, I've broken everything down into a variety of tables. I've changed some field names as well. Again, it was easiest (for me) to carefully organize everything in Excel in hopes everything would fall right into place. Not the case so far.
