I'm looking to buy an external HD since I've seen prices drop dramatically this past year. Anyone have any recommendations on at 100gb HD? Right now I'm leaning towards Maxtor or WD. Links to cheap external HD would be great! I'm in the US btw and I'm looking to spend <$90

Prices have crashed downunder as well. Eyeing off an external terrabyte drive at the moment. Do I need that much space, hell no, but sounds cool ;)

Westdig external drives are noisy, specially the mybook Range. I would suggest to go for Iomega, really good hard drive and it is very quite. The aftersale service is really good as well.

Now is probably the best time to buy an external hard drive. In the UK you can purchase a 1TB external hard drive for under £100 so you should be able to find a good hard drive for $90.

I have a slender 160GB one by CN Memory. It works great. I just saw it sell for $80 the other day.

Saw a 1 TB at Fry's for under $100 and an internal 1.5 TB drive for $89. Large storage at very low prices now.

My advice is stick to the best brands, they will offer longer warranty and better disks...Seagate, Western Digital, Lacie are all good...I recently got a Western Digital Elements 1TB for £70 and a 1TB Lacie for £65....
