Films and TV

I suspect that it's just sold to network here and they decide when to show it, since I rarely watch daytime tv I don't even know if it's still on, great shame I quite enjoyed it

Do your cable companies have DVRs and advanced scheduling options? I can record any series I like, and also record any program from a guide list that shows the next 28 days. That is, of course If I have enough space to do so.

Another tv series I like is the "Dead Man's Gun". I just started watching it this summer, although it appears to have been around between 1997 and 1999, and I must have missed it in the fist run.

I won't pay for cable/satellite tv:mad:;)

Around here there is little choice. Most of the Broadcast stations are via cable or satellite. After 2009, when tv goes all digital all the time, we will need it anyway.

3) Commercial breaks!!!
I fast forward them ;)

The joiner does that too! I keep warning him, one day he won’t have a thing to wear because I won’t know what to use to get his dungarees clean :D

Why did I know the lady was going to say that?

Ah, this forum is full of psychos, erm I mean psychics :D. You threw me with the "lady" part, had to think there before I realised you were talking about me :D :D :D

DEXTER ALERT

Ahhhh, now the people at work are going to wonder what I’ve been up to because I’ll be smiling all day :D

As for TV shows, I'm content with Wheel of Fortune, and game shows in general,.

I’ve not see Wheel of Fortune, but I do enjoy University Challenge!

Both get beat by The Holy Grail

/Help, Help, I'm being repressed!

LOL, brilliant movie, but face it the Life of Brian was the best! You know it’s still banned in a town in Wales?

Hey guys, lets us don't forget about
Christmas Vacation and Christmas Story as well as great movies.

Best Christmas movie EVER was Bad Santa!

They do, but they charge you extra for them.

Lol, we have neighbours like that, except they receive, they just don’t pay :D

It no longer matters, you can now get freeview on satellite including HD that you don't have to pay extra for;)

Talk about your repeats... Christmas is the absolute worst, I dont think I can remember a Xmass where they didnt show these movies....
As well as your other basic Xmass garbage, like "All you need is love" or some real live show "Chistmass on the shores of Hawai" or something awfull like that.

The spirit of XMass died when WW1 started I think... By now it has decomposed and it has all "gone to hell in a handbasket" !
But that will probably give enough push from different people to start another thread...

That's been done ;)

It's nearly that time of the year again when people start hoarding goods in an effort to satisfy the desires of their entire family for one day of the year.

I don't think there are nearly enough xmyth shows on in December! I may not agree with wasting money on needless things, but it's the one time of the year we're all supposed to feel good and caring :D There are loads of movies they can put on with that Xmyth theme - Black Christmas for instance :D :D

It's traditional don't you know?:D

As long as we are speaning of "annual traditions". I like the thanksgiving broadcast of "The March of the Wooden Soldiers". It's the funniest version of "Babes in Toyland" ever!

We are waaay too sheltered over here! Never heard of either :D I guess I've not heard of a whole lot of TV programs. A friend was just telling me about a program called "embarassing illnesses". The deal seems to be that people are too embarassed to go to their GP and discuss (very private problems, fungal infections, STI's etc ), so the easy alternative is to display your wares on national TV, quite literally warts and all   These attention seekers really want to get a grip!

You may be that sheltered.
Both were on while I lived in the UK.
Must have been a regional feature then, I've never heard of them either:confused:
Did you live close to the Dutch transmitters, say Kent;)

no they were on a digital channel - channel 5 or something -- not one to watch while you are eating

Perhaps they've been shown on that since, but I remember watching it as a child, back before Channel Five existed. As there were adverts during it, it was either on ITV or CH4.
