Filter CountA()

I once had a spreadsheet which used CountA() at the bottom of a column. The spreadsheet also had an autofilter on it. The CountA() formula had an extra bit in it so the correct total number was displayed when the filter was used.

Can anyone please remind me what the formula was?

Don't panic!

I found it:

=SUBTOTAL(3,A2:A283)

(It wasn't CountA() at all!!!)

Sorry

sorta is shorthand slang for "sort of" because the 3 in Subtotal(3,...) indicayes that the Subtotal is to use the function CountA, 1 Average 2 Count etc, so your comment that it was not CountA afterall was .. well it sorta was CountA .

I live in Missouri (center of US), but in my traveling since becoming sem president (April 1), I have been in California (twice), Kansas, Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Florida. I just got home last night, and I go back to Indiana (via Iowa/Illinois) Saturday for our National Convention. Since Jan 1, I have driven 20,000 miles and flown about the same number.

I have had a total of 15 days home since April 1. I almost feel like the Scarecrow from Wizard of Oz: "Part of me is there, part over there.... I'm all over the place!"
