hello,
i need to design a query in which order shortage is calculated with respect to fifo method for orders .
attached is the logic . i need help to create it .
and if i need to incorporate more than 10 orders , what is the best method for this ??? thankssssss

i am not following this. if there is a stock-out, why does it matter whether it is fifo, or any other method.

thinking again - if you are trying to assess stock shortages, are you trying to evaluate the posiiton for each stock order, without committing the orders at all - a sort of "what if?" situation.

in which case compare your stock on hand with the total of the order requirements for each successive order.

ie -
compare stock with sum(orders 1 to 1) (ie just one order)
compare stock with sum(orders 1 to 2)
compare stock with sum(orders 1 to 3)
etc.

yes exactly this is i want to do ... but i dont have the actual logic with which i can simplify my query ?????
i.e. how to create a query or report .
calculated fields ??? or something else ???
and if i need to increase the number of shipments in this report ???? what should be the best method ?
