Hello everyone!
I consider myself as a MS Excel geek.
And since some people tell me that too, it must be true.
I have fun with it whenever I need to manipulate data.

Then come the two big problems with spreadsheets: multi-users and data protection.
I'm sure some of you had some disasters too :-(
The only solution is database and MS Access is accessible.

So here I go :)

For now I've only built 3 little splitted databases.
Right now I'm working on a new one that could include those 3 later on.
I have some success and some failure but everything is an experience.

I have some success and some failure

I am not surprised!

Welcome to Access World Forums(AWF)....

The main problem for People moving from Excel to MS Access is that they assume it is just a more sophisticated version of Excel, an Excel like interface able to handle the problems you have just described.

Although this is essentially true, the problem is MS Access is not Excel and that is where your problems begin...

I blogged about it on my website here and I highly recommend that you have a good read:-

Hello and welcome to the forum. I see you have a link from Uncle Gizmo, who is one of our members more experienced in such conversions as you described. His blog should be a good starting point.

I'm reading it.
I can relate many things ;-)
My biggest struggles are the some function don't work the same way (DAvg!) and I have to tweak it so it works correctly.
Then come the way I have to split a whole spreadsheet into many tables with relations. Not the technical aspect but more the thought process.
And once I think it's good and use it in production, I hope I won't have to modify anything...
