Hey, Phil - welcome to the forum.
I loved Washington State when I last visited the area (now a few decades ago, sadly). The apple and cherry farms around Yakima were great including the guys who sold produce from the backs of their trucks. I remember having lunch with an apple SO big and juicy that it was all I needed for lunch, though the cherries made for a good dessert. That apple almost violated the "never eat anything bigger than your head" rule. I also enjoyed Seattle and the bay. I know from my Navy days that Whidby Island is a decent-sized military base, too.
