Hi all,
I'm recently retired from AT&T, and have used MS Access extensively in my career there as a Data Architect. My guess is I first started using it back in 1992. It has always been my tool of choice for connecting to any and all DBMSs I've worked with. Through the years I've created some fairly complex solutions with my Access Databases, but I've probably forgotten more than I've retained. ;)

Now I'm a retiree looking to supplement my income to fund my golf addiction and supplement my retirement income. I'll always be driven to working with Databases: Designing solutions to make people's life a little easier. I'm sure most of you out there know more than I ever will, but what they hey! I figure it's a lot like golf. I'm better than 85% of all the golfers out there, but that other 15% generally blow my doors off. So what? It's fun!!!

My plan is to set up a little Consulting company aimed at helping small businesses, schools or organizations with their IT needs. Access may or may not be part of what I'll do for them... whatever makes sense architecturally.

Thanks in advance for welcoming me aboard!

Welcome from a fellow golfer. I've got a brother-in-law in Branson, which I think is the only place I've been in MO.

Yeah - Branson is our little Nashville or similar. Beautiful country but a little hokey for me, haha.

Thanks for the welcome!

I lived in Missouri for 26 years. All of my family is still there. Sorta miss the weather there. California weather can be rather boring after a while.

Hi Kevlray. I wouldn't mind a little 'boring' California weather about now.

I bet, I talk to my mom every week. Many years ago when we had a farm. My job was to break the ice in the pond so our cattle could get a drink. I remember a week where it never got above 0 Fahrenheit. When it finally got up to 32 Fahrenheit, it felt like a heat wave.

Well, its not THAT bad here... actually it is supposed to top out over 50 for next 2 days.

Lots of Missouri folks lately... and yeah, this week makes up for the 2-degree weather we had a couple of weeks ago.

Hey... Us Missouri folks say 2 things
- Show Me
- Better late than never!

I hope I can learn a few tricks in this MS Access forum. It has been a huge part of my Professional career - and I hope it continues in my Retirement career, ha ha! I have my issues with some of Microsoft stuff, but I've yet to come across ANYTHING that compares with Access's 'getting things done' abilities!
