Hi everyone, my name is Darwin. At the moment I am living in Brazil. I have taught myself how to use Access for the last 6 years via the internet and discussion sites like this one. I have one project, but it is a big project. My wife is a civil registar in the district where we live. I saw the need for a data base at her office (marriage licenses, birth certificates, and death certificates). I set up an Access data base with frontends on 4 work stations and the backend on the file server that I set up. From the FE certificates can be printed, monthly reports generated, and pages for the archive can be printed using MS Word. I have found using and programing Access to be my favorite hobby and hope to do more when we arrive in the USA in September of this year (I am an American and my wife is a Brazilian). I am an accountant by formal training and am a fan of Microsoft products. I use Word, Excel and Access on a daily basis, both professionally and privately. Any advice is welcome and encouraged. I find the people that are members of Access forums to be the most friendly and always willing to help no matter what level a person has attained. It reminds me of when I raced motorcycles, how even competitors helped each other with all kinds of problems so that all could compete and have the best competition.
