Hi, I just joined. I've been picking apart Microsoft access for large data pulls since a month ago, and I still feel like I have no idea what I'm doing.

Hi. Welcome to AWF!

Hello and welcome to the forum.

If you are truly confused about what you are doing, there are some books for Access that MIGHT help. I won't name any because it doesn't matter what books I like. I will almost certainly read from a different perspective than you do.

You need to go to your local bookstore and actually open a few books to random chapters and read the first couple of pages of each of your selected chapters. Read enough to learn whether you are getting any sense of what the author(s) have to say. If the author(s) do not connect with you in two full page, don't buy that book.

Oddly enough, for basic operations, any version of Access including and after 2007 (the advent of .ACCDB format) should be enough to get you started. Though a few things HAVE changed since then, the basics are pretty much the same. Don't start with anything older than 2007, though, because that was the year of a major version and file-format change.
