How about that DOW?

It has now been several days since the original stock market crash.

The doom sayers are still in the media trying their best to spread panic and yet

NOTHING HAS HAPPENED

Could it be that we are all worried over nothing. Is it possible it was just another of those self-correcting stock market drops. No banks have failed, nobody (to speak of) has been laid off. Credit is a little tight but that's happened before.

Maybe it we all keep our heads, there won't be a recession/depression.

I always thought you lived in cloud cuckoo land, you've just confirmed it

So what has happened?

A much needed market correction has happened and some people that didn't deserve credit in the first place have lost their homes. Beyond that, I'm with statsman. Seems like our governments are up to something insidious

It's early days yet, I wouldn't argue on the points you raise, to me banks are a pile of shit that we can't do without

Actually, I feel I've mispoken. I think (at least in the US) MASSIVE inflation is on it's way. I don't think it would've happened had our government not gotten involved.

So I guess I've been promoted out of cuckooland to birdland.

The next stop is Rich-land where if you don't like the way he runs things wait 5 minutes, he'll change his mind.

I don't run anything other than my own business, what are you on about?

People who have credit for anything can obviously not afford the item that put them in debt... a lot of people played the game of credit like an Xbox and declared they were bankrupt then went to another financial institution and got credit... two... three... four times
Everything I own I own and there is no lein against anything I have so if they finally decide the economy has gone kaput then I guess I will just continue to do farming and bartering... and keep the cold hard cash in the coffee jar on the top shelf :) I will keep everyone here in mind if I am looking for some farm hands ;)

Keep me in mind, Seenior Fitty. I have a real strong back.

Shouldn't that be "really strong back"?

I'm guessing "seenior" is a phonetic spelling pretending to be a Mexican illegal immigrant - so I'll let that go.

Thanks - I was going to point that out but it seems that those of us who work hard know that more then people who hardly work ;)
If you work hard enough you'll keep warm:D

The long cold winter does not bother me since Mrs.Fifty said that cold wintery days are for indoor sports :D

You check yours, mine is correct

It had to do with the 180 degree about face from Post 61 to Post 63.

At the time the post was made, no banks had failed as a result of the crash. Some have gone down in the past few days but they would have failed anyway, even without the stock market crash and were already well down that road.

I find it interesting that anyone who posts as much as you do about any and all subjects would claim to be "minding my own business".
