I have to work on a terminal server and turn off a database before I can do another task. Sometimes the database will freeze. I have been running the task manager from the run prompt and closing it that way.

Is that my best choice? I just want to make sure this will not hurt the database.

Any input with be great,

James

IMHO, there is no say way but the way you are doing is as close to safe as you're going to get.

Is the database split? Then you could work on the front end and upload it to its destination. Then no chance of corruption while working on it.
