We have put the Ms Access database on the shared folder on the server with a view that it will be accessed by users in a split FE & BE situation,. Whenever we want to link the database which is on the aforesaid machine we keep on getting the boxes for the user credentials and password.
I have tried to turn off the password on the server using the method below, even if I press save it does NOT save anything :

- On your keyboard hit the WINDOWS KEY+R
- Type Control Panel, then click OK
- Select Network and Sharing Center
- Select Change advanced sharing settings
- At the bottom of the screen, select the All Networks
- Select Turn off password protected sharing
- Select Save Changes
Could it be I'm missing something here???????
