I am wanting to sell a Distributor program I have created named Order Pro

I am wanting to sell an access program I have developed for distributors.

I don't have time to try and license it out as from next year am wanting focus full out on rugby and don't want to be tied down with commitments.

It handles all of the following for Distributors:
Order Process
Payments
Statements
Deliveries
Stock
Customers
Invoicing
etc.

Any body have any ideas. Any body have interest in buying it from me?

You may get a better response if you can submit an evaluation copy or a series of screen shots that details the application in more detail. Also you have not given any clues as to the cost of the package.

Does it come with full documentation?
Is it runtime or can the user buy development rights?
What product support is available? at what cost?
What is its USP?

Hi DCrake

I am wanting to sell the development rights.

I started working on the program for a food distributor franchise group that opened in SA that are dedicated to Nestle products distributing.

They would have baught the program with developer rights by me for around R30000 ZAR. ( $4000 )

The first franchise has been using my program with success for the last two years. The second franchise they have decided to use Pastel. At the moment they are analysing which is the best option for them between Pastel and Order Pro. They have kept me on a string for long enough. Promising 30 odd franchises opening.

I have thought about licensing it out to other distributors but have decided that is not the best option for me for above metioned reasons.

I will work on screen shots. Will create a sample db. And will send a full MDE version to a person interested. Will also try and create a list of key features of the program ( USP )

As for documentation, I have not yet created full documentation. But will create documentation to assist the developer interested in purchasing it from me. Will try and post it sometime this week.

I am willing to assist the developer with grasping the functioning of the program and questions he/she may have.

Have you considered IPR? Nestle would have commisioned you to write this appliation and as such should have the IPR not you. I would check this out first before considering selling some one elses product.

Can you elaborate. By IPR i presume you mean Intellectual Property Rights.

This is my first major program I have worked on. The program has some features dedicated to Nestle, but can be removed for other distributors. The whole PFD franchise idea was started by someone working for Nestle planning to move out of Nestle full time into PFD. Some of the big guys from Nestle came down and had a look at my program and they were very impressed.

As they know my main focus is rugby I believe that this is the reason they have decided to use Pastel on the second franchise ( As the first franchise owner is a friend of mine and this inside scoop comes from him ) , the problem being that I might not be able to support the program.
