i keep getting logged off

sorry for posting here was not sure where to post it.
for some reason I keep getting logged off. if I take a long time to type a reply or post, when I submit it I've been logged off and lost everything ive written

can you shed some light on why and what can I do about it?

I would suggest that the Access News or General forums would be a better bet than the Excel.
Have you checked the Remember me box at the Login?

You may have a very slow connection to AWF. Not your fault.

Try writing your reply in Word or similar then do a copy past when ready.

If your connection has you changing IP addresses often, that may also interfere with your ability to maintain a single session for an extended period of time.

I believe your problem is a slow or busy connection. Your send is simply timing out.

You could try writing your post in word, refresh AWF then copy paste and send.

If not try a different browser.

Also what else is running on your machine. Are you downloading or uploading some file to the cloud at the same time. Is someone else on your network using too much band width.

One or a combination of the above should solve the problem.

It is good to be able to see where in this world you are from. If you could complete your personal information so that something shows in the left viewing pane under your name then that would be nice. It can also help with other questions that you may have later when regional settings come into play. No need to be exact. Mid USA would tell us a lot. It even tells your time zone.

I am now guessing, but you could try phoning your ISP for advice or you could change your browser.

2 months ago in post#2 I suggested that you check remember me, surely by now it must have been worth a try?

What browser are you using? A chap had problems with safari last year due to his cookies setting.

This site does have some problems.

My ISP is Bigpond which is the biggest in Australia. I cannot receive email notifications from AWF to Bigpond. I have to use G Mail

I cannot download from AWF using Internet Explorer. I have to switch to Fire Fox.

So like me you just have to find a work around, unfortunately.

The Cloud is a new word for something old.

The Cloud is used for anything that is done outside your computer. It is like a server that is located somewhere other than on your site.

Microsoft give you free space in the Cloud. About 7 Gig. Search for Sky Drive.

I normally have a link to my Sky Drive in my signature. There I store some sample databases that I have written.

As Brian pointed out long ago the problem is that you have not ticked Remember Me.

It sets a persistent cookie. Otherwise your session expires quite quickly. In my experience the site is practically unusable without it.
