I know that there is an abundance of information and education in the forum, however I need someone to please, please take a look at my data base and tell me what I'm doing wrong.

I am creating an employee database, yes sounds simple but I have many things that I would like to do and I keep slamming into a brick wall :banghead:when I try to put it all together. If someone could just take a little peek and help me out just a little bit, it would be the best Christmas present ever!!!!!!!!!!

Many, Many Thanks!!!!!

For starters, you have a number of fields that are the same in different tables. Employee names. You have some non normalized tables, fields for absenteeism and tardiness.

Look at this white paper on data base relationships. I think if you look at rearranging your tables after reading this you will have better success.

this link will offer you some database layouts that may be helpful.

and finally, this link is the Reddick Naming Conventions that you might find valuable.

I thank you so much for the information and for your willingness to help, but I when it comes to access I need hands on or visual to process the information. Is there anything out there that may be interactive, or if I can show you the database you can provide me with a little more insight?
