My name is Amber, and I live in San Diego. I currently work at a biotech, and at one point was asked to start keeping track of our data in Access. That has, of course, ballooned, possibly past what I can teach myself. (Who needs a LIMS system anyway?!?)

I'm my company's resident computer "expert," which means that I can reliably turn on my system and google myself most answers ;)

I'm currently hitting some major walls in a complicated project, however.

Ha sounds like me! Love it.

I laugh every time someone at my company refers to me as the resident computer expert. I'm good with computers. I can wrestle them into submission most of the time, but I haven't taken a programming class since BASIC was all the rage on my Apple II/e.

I have to admit, I've been lurking on this forum for better than 2 years. I've found the answer to just about everything I've needed help with through the archives showing up on google search results.

I have too! We're creepers. It started about 2 years ago when I decided "Oh hey yeah I can probably figure that out" and proceeded to beat a template into submission until it would work for us. But of course we've outgrown that so now I'm having to actually beg for help.

Glad we've come out of hiding! BTW- how often do you have to ask "is it plugged in?" or "have you tried restarting it?" as a part of your IT expertise?
