I have spent decades doing classes and events, wrapping controls Withevents to extend their functionality. I am trying to get all the stuff out of my head and onto "paper".

For now google Blogger John Colby. I cannot post a link here it seems.

I hope you enjoy and find it useful.

First, hello and welcome to the forums.

Second, you are correct about being unable to post links. We have a threshold setup to block links from new members because we were having a really bad time with spammers. You would not believe the number of Pacific Rim gambling sites we have been seeing, including VietNam, N. Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, several sites from India, and even a couple of Bangladesh sites. As a moderator, I've been blocking and banning such sites for months now. Before some of our automation went up to remove suspicious sites, I must have blocked several hundred spammers, and our other moderators have been busy as well. Therefore, don't take the automatic link block as being anything personal.

LOL I do understand. OTOH it seems just replying is also banned? If the reply is anything technical anyway. I have been getting a ton of "Ooops something went wrong. It seems that something about your post (as a reply) is spammy" kind of thing.

Hi John
Welcome to AWF. For those who don't know, John has been a regular presenter at the Pacific chapter of Access User Groups which is led by @GPGeorge. John's next presentation for that group is on Thur 5 June:

Thanks Colin. I've been sort of preoccupied with non-Access stuff and haven't made time to post links to meetings. I apologize.

I will also add that John is working on a book on Classes in VBA. I've been reading the first draft over the last week or so. I can't wait to see it available publicly.

Hi George
No need to apologise. John and I have been in contact. I have a link to his book but not yet found time to look at it.

If your reply contains a link, even if in a quoted post and even if that link is to this site, you will either get that message or possibly a message to say unable to post links. I have a few posts, so never get to see what is displayed.
