Improving performace at report level (1 Viewer)

Hi All

I have a report which is having two free hand SQL commands.
one is taking 40 sec and other is taking 6 sec in PL/SQL developer.
But when i run the crystal report after publishing it to infoview with the same commands, it is taking 2minutes.

our report doesnt have any subreports.pulling the data directly from the SQL command based on 11 prompts selection of the report.

How the report will process actually when we run the report?
Is there any possibility to improve performance at report level(using free hand sql commands,no calculated values or formulas)

Version-Crystal reports XI R2
Database-Oracle 9i

If you publish the sql statements separetly does it take the same amount of time in Infoview?
