In a report, how do I display one field dependent on another.

I would like to display the value of a field [Name] based on the value of another field in the same Table [Position] in a report. My goal is to have a visual representation of data that changes based on the changes to the value of the [Position] field.

you'll need to provide a lot more information and describe more clearly what you mean - suggest provide sample data both before and after plus perhaps screenshots of the visual changes you are trying to achieve.

The only thing I can determine at the moment is you seem to be using Name for a field name - this is a reserved word and cause problems when used s suggest you change it

The structure of the table is as follows

Name Location
Alpha 1.1
Bravo 2.1
Charlie 3.1
Dog 2.2
Echo 4.1
Fox 5.1

I would like the report to look like this

Able Baker Charlie Easy Fox
Dog

And obviously if the value in the location field changes the report would automatically change to reflect the change.

So your mystery recipe transformed Alpha into Able, Bravo into Baker and so on, with exception of Charile and Dog, threw away the decimal numbers and then listed the result with 5 values per line, but no longer in alphabetic order.

Now if that is not what is supposed to happen then try again. If this is what is supposed to happen what is the recipe? Remember we do not read minds and only see what you provide.
