Insignia for the King/Queen of England?

The Washington Post today had a picture of Prince Charles in a military uniform with Prince William behind him, also in uniform. (The picture may well disappear soon to be replaced by a new article.)

I have often wondered is there a special insignia designating the rank of King/Queen of England?

Also would Prince William hold a regular military rank, or does he have a special rank too?

No not really

techically the queen is the head of the army/navy/af and out ranks all else
but you will usually see that they hold the rank of cornel (so that they can be the colonel in cheif of a given regiement - as are all the royals (major/minor) Charles is a colonel in cheif of whatever and the duchess fo Kent is the colonel in cheif of the catering corp..

the rank is given pretty much as a job to do - but some take it very seriously (all the major royals do) the ranks are as shown

the queen - from memory no longer wears her uniform, but given that she 80 odd

the rank of field marshal (or navy/airforce equilivant) has nor etirement age and as such they are piad 100% of their salary until they die - currently the UK has only 1 Field marshal

William (and Harry ) will be promoted - but there is a system in place that stops people being promoted too fast so their promotions will happen every x months or every year -

There is a honors system in place which is outside of the armed forces that they willb e members of

Knights of the garter being the highest one (I think) anyway it is limited to a certain number the queen runs it - followed by Charles and of course his sons (when there is space for them) certain ex prime minsters
Major /Thatcher (~Major because he was appoint to look after Will/Harry after their mother died for all things that the royals could not get invovled
