Hello, Abigail, and welcome to the forum.
Questions on what you can do with Access? Well, it won't wind the cat and put out the clock at night, but it has a pretty good range. It can do almost anything you can imagine if you can then persist to accomplish it, programming-wise. But some things are easier than other things to implement.
One quick word of advice: Access is as dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to "real-world" problems. All it really "knows" how to do is build tables, queries, forms, reports, macros, modules, and data relationships (but it doesn't know what to put in any of them). YOU will supply the business expertise. Think of Access as a hand tool like an electric drill with multiple interchangeable heads. You are the carpenter. The drill won't build the cabinet - you will. But with a power tool for the mind, you can do things faster.
