letters with the year

hi,

i am going to use the autonumber as an order number but I want " SC2015 in front of it so i end up with " sc20151 , sc20152
but next year i want it to change the year SC201650
could you please explain how to put the sc2015 in my report without any input from the user

i did try scyear() but that don't work

you need to store the year number for each record in a separate field. So this year, you store 2015, next year you store 2016. You may be able to determine this directly from the transaction date, rather than needing to store it.

in which you can then display something like this (formatted however you like):

displayvalue: "SC" & year_ref & "-" & autonumbervalue

shows as SC2015-112345 etc
