I've got a chance to use Mountain Duck as a test.
I mapped my dropbox to Z: drive.
I created a accdb with 1 million records, then split it and
save the BE to my dropbox (drive Z::
I don't know if there are any problem in the future,
but to my test it works.
I can access all 1 million records without any lag.
as if I am working on my hdd.

That's a good find Arnel, hopefully with more testing it will show some promise. I wonder how it is actually making the connection? The real question is how does it handle internet disconnects. If it can do that, then we have something.

here is a link
not sure if it would work in a multi user environment however as it uses caching - but does say 'Changes are uploaded in the background as soon as a connection is available' which may be sufficient

Reading further they mention it isn't possible to share drive on the locally mounted drive on the network. That kills it for me.

"simulating" Fe/Be on two laptops (BE on dropbox), it did update/edit/delete.
it does update the data without problem.

Presumably that is with each using the same licence/seat? Any chance you can test from two different IP's (perhaps by sharing your mobile/cell hotspot and connecting one machine via that and the other via normal network)

Also not clear from the licencing here https://mountainduck.io/buy/ that same licence/different seats would work as required for Access. Happy to split the cost of a 5 seat licence to test the principle. Perhaps there are a few others who would like to experiment?

i already created a dummy google account and will give (away) the password
when we are complete. or anybody can create the account and give (away) the password.

So what are you suggesting for the actual test? Is this someone connects, makes some changes and then disconnects so someone else can then connect and make changes? Even if that would work, how would that be practical to use if only one user has access at a time except for a really small group of two or three persons. Just trying to get a picture on what the value is here.

Good Morning.
my english is not that good.
from what I understand, it seems to me to be a lifetime subscription, where 1 user would be $39.00 dollars.
if you want help to test... I'm in.
thanks

yes a real test, and simultaneous, nobody is disconnecting.
already 3 has confirmed, 2 more for the 5 seat license.
btw it is not limited to 1 shared drive, you can use it on
any cloud storage.

needs to be agreed but I anticipated based on a typical widespread commercial environment. Each user in different locations, all connecting from different IP's and networks. Access Front end on their local machine, Access backend on someone's? onedrive/google/whatever. And being able to connect directly and not via the host. If possible, would also like to look at whether sql server express or mySQL can be used in this way as an alternative BE, but don't know whether these can actually be installed on onedrive/etc (I suspect not)
