Mouse disappears

Why does my mouse disappear? Is there any way to stop it or is there a larger pointer I can load?

Seriously, does the time-honored "wiggle the mouse all over the place until I see it on screen" method help? My first thought is that if you have one of those advanced desktop control apps, the mouse might have disappeared in the gap between the virtual edge of the screen and the physical edge of the screen.

I would suggest checking for a running timer, but you are experienced enough to know about timer effects on mice.

Are you on Win10 or something older? Does it disappear on apps other than Access?

wiggling the mouse brings it back but only in some sections of the screens (I have two). I'll try the settings. I forgot they were there.

I've had this happen sometimes in app-specific situations. Also sometimes when I click File > Save As in Excel, and once I am in the drop-down list where you choose the 'save as type', my mouse pointer almost always disappears - but is still selecting things as I hover. Super bizarre.

The pointer and hotspot icon are big and dark. I haven't lost them yet.
