I have searched the archieves and (even though there is a lot of information about multi-user issues) I cannot find a solution to allow more than one user to open the database.
I am using Access 2000 on a 3 computer peer-to-peer LAN. All PC's use Windows XP Home. The mdb database is located in the SharedDocs folder of one of the computers.
I cannot seem to open the database except in "Admin" mode, thereby getting the error "The database has been placed in a state by user 'Admin' on machine 'OFFICE10' that prevents it from being opened or locked." when another user tries to access the database at the same time.
I've tried creating a 'ficticous' user under Windows XP (via control panel) and limiting it's scope to a non-adminitrator but it still has the same problem.
Tools->Options->Advanced is clicked to "Shared" and "No Locks"
I had the database set-up as FE/BE but ran into slowed performance and some have recommended using single database.
Please any help appreciated.
