Hello
I am a complete novice to MA. I have been using Filemaker for 10 years. I am interested in how a database can help me at work.

Hi. Welcome to AWF!

Welcome @MatthewB to the best online forum for MS Access developers. I also used Filemaker between 2004-2009
Thanks for the greeting. Yea, filemaker was very useful but now I am working on PC. I have a job that really needs a database to focus and manage building information. None of my colleagues really understand how compromised their work is - its all Excel documents, and all very unmodern. It is a bit daunting now having to learn access but the usefulness of a database cannot be passed by. Regards

You have come to the right place. Also be ready to do some self learning on the basics of database development and access development. Wish you the best on your journey

Hello, Matthew, and welcome to the forum. I think you will find that Access can do a bit more than Filemaker. Or more than just a bit more.

Welcome aboard AWF Matthew!

Ms access can do a lot more than Filemaker, though I haven't used Filemaker in recent years.
