Need some help - monthly report - calendar style

I have a DB with employee info - it has info on days off. I would like to create a report in the form of a calendar which would show the current month and put down the names of employees who have scheduled time off - so people can see at a glance who from their team is off and when.

Does anyone have any info on a good way to do a calendar? Been searching, but found nothing yet that will help.

how many employees?

i would generate a spreadsheet, actually

dates down the left, names along the top (or the other way), and add the holidays to each cell.
