Hey everyone

I'm in IT for 17 years now. Started off on Pascal on a VAX (for younger folk, this is a DEC mainframe - not a vacuum cleaner/hoover!). Stayed on a VAX/Alpha and "progressed" to Cobol, DecForms and Oracle RDB.
While staying on mainframe over the years, i picked up some VB and VBA along the way. Was sent on some Java courses but never really used it in practice - so, didn't get into it.
Along the way, i done some relationship management, business analysis etc as well as dev/support. Doing all 4 roles most days but just getting paid one salary !
Just 3 years ago, left my DEC/HP world to go Java, PL/SQL, Cobol (IBM). Was just getting into the Java and PL/SQL when the whole group who were taken on to move into a new region were all made redundant.

There i found out that my languages were very ourdated and that although i had experience in dev, relationship mgt, bus analysis, i wasn't 100% experienced enough in any.
Anyway, eventually after 6 months out of work got a job as an application developer. Its basically business rule writing with a VBA like syntax. But, its probably 5-10% max of the functionality of VBA.
While doing this, i started to write some Excel VBA tools. And i also wrote an app with Excel front end and Access back end.
So, i am old in terms of IT but relatively new to Access. Although i have done some Access, i haven't done any Access work with regards to distributing via the web. Which is why i will be following with another post to try get some guidance ..

Thanks for listening :)

Rob
