Right hand column - see Connecting Access to - pick source.

It has been about too many years (maybe 9 years). The EPA drinking tried a failed attempt to use this before switching to MS SQL Server.
I remember having to set up a Java server inbetween the MS Access and the database. You are going to have to do some homework. My guess is that it is not direct.

Got a quick break.
Here are the step by step for MySQL ODBC

The Port Number has a default, but a MySQL installation can change that too.
Please be sure and provide feedback for others who may search and find your post.
I don't have a MySQL DB installed so I can't test it.

Hello there ,
thanks for your response to my question.
I just received an email from my webhosting company.
They informed me that SQL databases on the servers are not available for remote applications.....

But never the less i have learned quite a lot while searching and trying to find the answer for my question, so my efforts where not entirely useless.

"SQL databases"
Just wanted to be clear that "your SQL Databases" are not available...

If you need a free Microsoft SQL Server Database available from a cloud site, look for the key word AZURE. MS Access can use the free ODBC driver SQL Server Native Cleint 11.0 to connect to it.
Thanks for marking you post Solved!
