'Odd' Characters in my tables

I have seen, when previously importing data, a character that looks like a ? with a square around it. I would then just delete these but now have seen more of the data which has manually been input with these characters. Anyone have an idea of where / how these have got there?

Hoping this thread works - I struggle with speed on this forum and often have timeouts. I will upload a screenshot of the character asap.

Oddly, when I try and copy the character or filter it - it shows as '9'.
In another record it represents '6'. It seems to be associated to the next character (to the right). Odd ....

I have seen this sort of thing where someone has done a copy & paste out of other software

Thanks. Might just go through and manually delete. Does not cause many issues - just looks odd and might affect searches etc.
